What is calibration?

Calibration is the comparison of a measured value using a measuring system with an actually measured value with a standard to determine the deviation. The determined deviation can be tested against a tolerance, allowing one to assess the reliability of a measurement.

Your Quality Management In Order With Calibrations

Why should you calibrate? It’s not just about meeting quality standards, it’s also about making sure that all critical measuring equipment in your business process operates reliably. After all, if your measuring equipment does not measure reliably, this may lead to failure costs, discussions about quantities, or doubts about food safety.

Kalibra has ample experience with calibrations and can completely unburden you. We understand that you take your responsibilities seriously, that you wish to comply with all laws and regulations, and that you want your quality management processes in order. Our quality system works in accordance with the internationally recognised calibration standard ISO 17025. Kalibra is an organisation accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council. We are therefore authorised to carry out calibrations and issue certificates bearing an accreditation logo. Read more about accreditation here.

We are an expert in the field of different types of calibrations.

Below you will find an overview of the quantities for which measuring instruments can be calibrated:

How often should you calibrate your instruments?

How often you should calibrate your instruments depends on:

  • Their application
  • The frequency with which they are used
  • The desired accuracy.

The general recommendation is annual calibration, but depending on the factors above, the calibration interval may either be longer or shorter.

Wondering when you need to perform calibrations again? Feel free to contact us.

On-site calibration

Calibration does not necessarily have to cost your company a lot of time or effort. Kalibra can perform calibrations during production or production stops. We perform our calibrations on-site. We refer to these calibrations as process calibrations.

For individual measuring instruments, calibration may also be performed on-site using mobile measuring chambers or in a customer workshop. It is always possible to calibrate your equipment in our measuring chamber in Roden. Read more about the possibility of having individual measuring instruments calibrated here.

Can we also visit you for calibration? Feel free to contact us.

Kalibra is industry-oriented

The way in which Kalibra works is industry-oriented. Every industry is different and requires a different approach. Click on your industry below for more information.

Food

Food safety is paramount when producing food products. Calibration of measuring instruments guarantees their accuracy and ensures your products meet all quality and filling requirements.

Healthcare

The correct validation of your conditioned rooms, the perfect coordination of your sensors: in hospitals and healthcare institutions, you must meet strict requirements for the ambient conditions of patients.

Pharmacy

Strict requirements apply to the production and development of medicines. For example, think of quality assurance such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and organisations such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Laboratories

The quality of analyses performed in the laboratory is determined by the reliability of measurements and the execution of analysis processes under controlled process conditions.

Process and Petrochemical Industry

Kalibra assists you with the quality and safety assurance of your installations and measuring instruments – all according to your own rules and the applicable requirements.

Refrigeration Maintenance

The quality of measuring equipment and tools for the maintenance and repair of refrigeration installations is essential to ensure the maintenance status of the equipment.

Energy

Quality and safety in the energy sector are extremely important. Kalibra can assist you with the quality and safety assurance of your installations and measuring instruments – all according to your own rules and the applicable requirements.

Concrete Industry

The quality of concrete is determined by the composition of the product from the various raw materials. Correct weighing of the quantities of raw materials is therefore essential in the composition of concrete.

Garage

The quality of measuring equipment and tools for car maintenance and repair is essential to ensure proper maintenance and safety of the work.

Metal and Plastics Industry

The quality of products produced with metal and plastics is partly determined by the correct shape and dimensions of the product. Measuring technology is therefore essential in the metal and plastics industry.
